Information For Faculty & Staff
What is the Faculty Portal?
The Faculty Portal is a convenient way to see all of the students who have requested accommodations for your classes. You will receive their individual student notification letters by email, and you can use the Portal to check their accommodations at any time. For more information about the Student Accommodation Process please see the Student Accommodation Process section.
To view accommodations, log into the Faculty Portal and follow the instructions under “export data: students” to download an excel file of your students and their current accommodation requests. You can also use the portal to complete additional student agreements, like a Classroom Attendance Consideration Flex Plan or the Alternative Testing Agreement with the CLASS testing center. View Training and Resources for more information about how to complete agreements.
About a week before classes start each semester, faculty will be able to access the faculty portal and view student accommodations. Please note that student accommodations may be approved and added to the portal throughout the semester. If a student has not submitted their letters to you through the portal, they will not show up in the Faculty Portal. Please reach out to CLASS with questions.
We encourage students to send eligibility notifications to professors within the first two weeks of the semester. We know over 90% are sent most semesters within this time frame, but some accommodation eligibility notifications are requested later due to unexpected delays on the part of the student or medical provider. Students are reminded each semester to discuss accommodations in person with instructors after sending electronic eligibility notifications. Including information in your syllabus and mentioning aloud in class the need to submit notifications in a timely manner assists in this process.
